Mob Match

The Mob Match is a race that everyone knows but perhaps not everyone loves...

Celebrating the end of the Cornish Grand Prix Series 2018, the coastal 5 mile road route takes in a pleasant assortment of some of Falmouth's finest hills, negating its potential for being a PB course. The volume of support for Falmouth Road Runners is phenomenal though, and what makes this race such an important one to perform on. There is also the small matter of team honours and bringing home the team prize...

The route starts at the end of Castle Drive and finishes outside the Falmouth Hotel, taking runners on a tour of Pendennis Point, down past Castle and Gylly beaches to Swanpool, via a detour down Boscawen Road. After a lap of Swanpool Lake, runners then puff their way back up the hill next to the cemetery and put all their remaining energy into the drag back up to the Falmouth Hotel from Gylly Beach.

In rather unique fashion, team prizes at this event are awarded for teams within three different divisions (corresponding to the small, medium and large clubs of Cornwall). Falmouth Road Runners' male and female teams both proudly took home first team prize in the medium sized club division. A fantastic achievement!
