Boconnoc 5 - the final race of the Cornish Multi-Terrain Race Series and one of my personal favourites! The race follows a nice hilly route through the picturesque forested Boconnoc Estate with pleasant helpings of mud along the route, no matter how dry the recent weather has been. Rather uncharacteristically for the weather of late, grey gloomy skies loomed over the start line, heralding rain which arrived 10 mins into the race and made it all the more exciting.

Round 8 of the Cornish Grand Prix Series, Sticker 5 essentially represents a hillier Cubert, around 1 minute slower for most runners. Starting off with a fast downhill section into the village of Sticker and very easy to get dragged along too fast, runners then climb out of the other side of the village and into the countryside on a fairly manageable hill at this stage. A series of fast country lanes then follow, with some fast downhill parts and muddy in places, up to around
Race 8 in the MTRS series, the Bude Lifeboat Run takes runners out along cycle paths, canal paths and off into the fields around Bude on the Cornwall/Devon border. With a lot of tarmac, this is one of the fastest races in the MTRS series. After one of the hottest days of the summer so far, warm and muggy air greeted runners as they assembled on the start line at 7.15pm, signalling that it was going to be a hot and sweaty race. Starting and finishing at Bude Rugby Club, runner
The 11-mile final Leg 4 of the Classic Quarter, from Lamorna Cove to Land's End, is arguably one of the most challenging sections, offering plenty of steep ups and downs with steps, some scrambling, and is a bit technical in places. But being the most challenging also makes it the more exciting and enjoyable. On a fine day, the scenic sandy beaches at Porthcurno, Porthgwarra and near Land's End, backed by crumbling granite cliffs and boulders, represent some of the most beaut
The flattest 5 mile race in Cornwall and perfect for a PB, the Cubert 5 miler returned last night in Round 7 of the Cornish Grand Prix Series. Bright sunshine but a cold and very gusty wind blew runners off the start line and away out of the village of Cubert on a fast flat or gently downhill section of road into the countryside. The race essentially consists of two loops on country lanes, with a couple of small undulations and a gentle incline at the halfway point, but most
The first ever Polzeath 10K, the second of 5 races in Freedom Racing's 2017 Summer Sessions, took place yesterday evening on a stunning summer evening in North Cornwall. After a damp, humid and cloudy day, clear blue skies and fresher air moved in from off the Atlantic just before the race start, lifting everyone's spirits.
The Polzeath 10K is undoubtedly one of the toughest races in the Summer Sessions, taking runners across a long section of beach and then onto the coast p
